knows Oscar W4OXH, but he's been around a LONG TIME AND AS A HAM!!!! Please

Hi Jeff,

Here’s what I found out at GCARS tonight.

Oscar will be 100 years old on Sept. 25th and has been a licensed Ham since
1949.  GCARS has a committee in the final stages of putting together a
party for him.  It will be on Saturday Sept. 23rd from 1 – 4 pm at Victory
Baptist Church, 2300 Philadelphia Church Rd., Dallas, NC

They have set up a “Go Fund Me” account on Facebook,  ARRL has issued a
station call sign for the event.  Bill Stevenson GCARS VP has been doing
some airing of the information through DStar and they’re expecting
National, and maybe even some International birthday greetings.  I have
been to the Gazette and invited a reporter and photographer.  Tomorrow I’ll
be trying to make some contact with the Charlotte Observer for the same
thing.  I’m pretty sure that the Shelby Club is already aware of the event.
